How the Montana Medical Marijuana Law Works:

Montana’s medical marijuana law is codified in MCA 50-46 (PDF). To become a legal medical marijuana patient in Montana, you must:

  • suffer from a qualifying condition (chronic pain, HIV, cancer, glaucoma, et al), and;
  • fill out the application form (PDF) and send it to DPHHS with the appropriate fee (currently $25)

Then, after you are approved by the state and receive your medical card, you and your caregiver (if designated on the form) may each legally grow up to six plants, and possess up to one ounce of usable marijuana. For more detailed information, see:

Medical Marijuana Caregiver, Providers Page

Montana Caregivers Network (MCN) will be in Bozeman, MT April 2, 2010 for a patient’s clinic. The clinic will be at the Gallatin County Fairgrounds in Bozeman, MT.

Directions:

Take the N. 7th street exit (305) off I-90. Head south until you reach W. Tamarack. Head East on Tamarack until N. Black Ave, this is the entrance to the parking lot. The clinic and exhibits are in Building 2.

Come check out the event at no cost!!  A doctor will be there to sign recommendations for a green card for here in Montana. Please contact MCN to set up an appointment; it will help you get through the system faster. MCN sees potential patients that have an appointment first.

There will be caregivers at the medical marijuana event in Bozeman, MT. Greene Acres Caregiver is willing to be your medical marijuana provider in Montana.

Be prepared to spend at least an hour at the medical marijuana clinic in bozeman even if you do have an appointment. The demand at these events is large, and many potential patients get signed up early. Make sure to have your medical records accessible so you can fax them ahead of time so the doctor has them on hand. The doctor hosting the medical marijuana event is very nice. I have been through the process now three times and each time it is a breeze!!! She is truly a god send!!

The MMJ event in Bozeman, MT is not the only clinic MCN hosts, so check them out as to the other towns/cities they will be at in the near future. I had heard some negative comments about MCN, but I can attest that they are an upstanding organization here to help with the MMJ movement.
